No heat build up at night at all. It is very soft; it feels like I'm being snuggled up, cozy. The fabric covering it is super plush. I love bamboo fabrics!!
If I have any complaints (and this is a personal choice due to a hip problem) it's that it is too soft for my problematic hip bone. If that hip didn't give me fits, I wouldn't just like this bed; I wouldn't want to get out of it come morning!
I have noticed a little smell, but this is only day two and the smell has dissipated almost completely. The smell isn't unpleasant anyway, it just smells new.
If you are looking for a soft, comforting place to lay down, this bed is all that. If you need very firm, I'd look around a little more. This seller seems to have a great selection!
